For a long PDF, preview the sections, choose where to start, and adjust the pace as you read. Strobe’s chapter list and searchable passage view help you move between sections.
1. Preview the document
Read the title, abstract or executive summary, headings, conclusion, and figure captions. Identify the sections you want to read closely.
2. Adjust the pace by section
Use a faster pace for familiar material and slow down for definitions, claims, and evidence you want to examine closely.
In Strobe, drag vertically while holding to change speed. Release to pause. The speed change lasts for that hold; the slider sets the document’s saved speed.
3. Configure word timing
Smart Timing adds time based on word length. Separate controls adjust punctuation pauses and word complexity. Configure them in Strobe’s Timing settings.
4. Search and revisit passages
Open passage view to check a reference or compare claims. Search a term or phrase, inspect the surrounding text, and tap a word to resume playback there.
5. Review and save your place
After a section, note its main claim and any questions you want to revisit.
Strobe saves your position locally, so you can stop at a section boundary and return later.
